LIH 1600 error: Open Registry (0x.....)
Question:
I installed EPC 10 amplifier and software on a new computer (Win XP). Drivers for dongle and PCI-1600 board are installed. However, each time I start the software, I get the error message:
"LIH 1600 error: Open Registry".
Answer:
The first time you start PATCHMASTER (or PULSE) after installing (or updating) the driver for the PCI board, you must be logged in as an administrator. The driver tries to write to the Windows registry. This fails, if you are logged in as a user.
For Windows 7 Users it is also recommended to lower the threshold of the "User Account Control Settings". (Control Panel - User Accounts - Change User Account Control Settings -> Never Notify). Reboot the system.
After these entries have been written to the registry, no administrative permissions are required for running PATCHMASTER or PULSE and you can increase security levels again.
