EPC10_USB: Error reading board version - unknown version

While starting the PATCHMASTER software I get the following error message:

"EPC10_USB: Error reading board version - unknown version"

What does it mean and how can I resolve it?

A reason for this error message might be that you are using an old PATCHMASTER version in comparison to the revision state of your EPC 10 USB patch clamp amplifier. Please try to install the latest PATCHMASTER version from our website.
