LIH 1600 error: Optical link not working
Question:
I have connected my EPC 10 amplifier to a new computer. I have installed the latest PATCHMASTER version, the "EPC driver" and the dongle driver successfully from your homepage. Upon starting PATCHMASTER, the error message:
"LIH 1600 error: Optical link not working"
comes up. What does this mean and how can it be fixed?
Answer:
This error message can have several reasons:
In the best case, the two optical cables are not properly connected. The red optical output at the PCI-1600 board must be connected to red input at the rear of the EPC 10 amplifier. The blue input at the board must be connected to the blue output at the amplifier. Upon connecting the cables to the amplifier, you should hear a low click noise.
The error could also be caused by a bent optical cable. You can check, if the cables are OK, if you disconnect the "blue" cable from the PCI board. You should see a red light in the open end of the cable. The same applies, if you disconnect the "red" cable from the rear of the amplifier.
Finally, the PCI board or the built-in LIH 1600 board of the amplifier could be defective. If you can't see the red optical signal from the outputs of PCI board or amplifier, then please contact our support team.
