Intracellular recordings with EPC 10
Question:
Is the EPC 10 amplifier able for sharp recordings with high impedance microelectrodes?
Answer:
Yes, the EPC 10 can be used for current clamp recordings with sharp electrodes. However, only the resting membrane of the cell can be measured. It is not possible to inject currents through the high impedance electrode since the compliance voltage of the amplifier is limited to ±1 V (or ±2 V with revision T amplifiers) at the headstage.
