Running PATCHMASTER with different user accounts
Question:
We have 3 users that regularly use the set-up and would like to be able to use the system with different user accounts. Is it possible to configure PATCHMASTER in such a way?
Answer:
The name of a PATCHMASTER setting file can be used as a command line parameter upon starting the program. That way, one can start PATCHMASTER with various configurations which is very useful when several users work on one setup and have a need for different PATCHMASTER settings.
The procedure for an individualized PATCHMASTER starting procedure is as follows:
- Rename the *.set file in your HEKA folder (e.g. "Patchmaster_User.set").
- Create a shortcut of Patchmaster.exe on the desktop.
- Rename the shortcut (e.g. "Patchmaster.exe_User").
- Right-click on the shortcut: Properties -> Link -> Target.
- The following command line should be written in the "Target" field, including the inverted comas and empty spaces:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\HEKA\PatchMaster\PatchMaster.exe" "C:\Program Files (x86)\HEKA\PatchMaster\PatchMaster_User.set".
Note: Please be aware that your installation path of your PATCHMASTER may vary on your PC.
Note: The term "User" is just a place holder for individual names.
